Jette Hellerøe for Axella Denmark ceramic wall candle holder
20 x 12 cm Weight 1370 g
An exceptional and rare wall candle holder made of Danish studio ceramics by Jette Hellerøe for Axella Denmark.
The cylindrical object is richly decorated with openwork ornaments and raised bumps. The characteristic flowing glaze in brown tones with deep blue accents gives the piece its distinctive Scandinavian Brutalist aesthetic.
Inside is an integrated holder for a single candle. The numerous openings create a fascinating interplay of light and shadow as the candle burns, atmospherically illuminating the walls.
The design combines handcrafted ceramic artistry with the distinctive design language of Danish Modern and Brutalism from the 1960s and 1970s. A decorative collector's item for lovers of high-quality Nordic ceramics.
