This expressive oil painting by Kurt Manning depicts a central female figure—a red-haired girl—against a vibrant cityscape. The figure gazes calmly and directly at the viewer, while in the background a bustling crowd unfolds amidst architectural facades. The juxtaposition of proximity and distance lends the painting a particular emotional depth.

The loose, visible brushstrokes and the deliberately reduced level of detail focus attention on mood and expression – not on realistic depiction.
