About Ottmar Hörl Ottmar Hörl (*1950 in Nauheim) is one of Germany's most important conceptual artists. He became known for his large-scale installations in public spaces, such as his iconic garden gnomes and the Euro Sculpture in Frankfurt. Hörl understands sculpture as an "organizational principle" and plays with the aesthetics of everyday culture in his works.
The Collector's Kit was created in 1997 as part of a four-part suitcase series (Auslandsvertretung, Picknick, Tell), which reflects Hörl's artistic approach in an ironic yet functional way. It is a statement about collecting itself – somewhere between passion, obsession, and systematic.
Why this kit? This Collector's Kit is more than an object—it's an experience. Ideal for art lovers, collectors, design enthusiasts, or anyone who wants to own a piece of conceptual art history. A conversation piece, a toolbox for creative minds, and a symbol of everyday curiosity.
