After studying art history and art education at the University of Munich, the Aschaffenburg-born artist initially worked as an art teacher at a secondary school. She has been a freelance artist for over 20 years and now lives and works in Gilching near Munich.

Ulrike Völkl-Fischer's artistic focus is on sculptures and paintings in radiant, fresh colors. Her cast stone figures are created in a complex process, from the initial model to the individually painted finished figure. She works without a fixed model in her paintings, allowing herself to be guided by feelings and moods.
