Kunstkeramik Giefer-Bahn was founded in 1947 by Kunal Giefer-Bahn as a sibling, Bahn - Hohr Keramik. Klothilde Giefer-Bahn, born in Koblenz in 1924, began her training with Elfriede Balzar-Kopp in 1938. In 1941 she passed her training exam and then began studying at the elementary school for ceramics in Höhr- Grenzhausen. She graduated in 1945 with an examination as a ceramic engineer. In 1947 she supplemented her training with a master's degree as a Master of Ceramics, which she completed with the highest results in the course. Her work focused on traditional salt-glazed stoneware, from which she made animal figures, vessels and sculptures.
