Rare Jopeko Fat Lava vase with spectacular blood-red lava glaze

This exceptional Jopeko vase, model 44-20, is a striking example of the renowned West German pottery of the 1970s. Its distinctive surface combines a deep matte, almost black texture with an intensely vibrant, blood-red lava glaze that flows across the surface like molten lava.

The vibrant colors and highly textured surface give the object an almost volcanic appearance, making this vase a rare collector's item from the Fat Lava era. The elegant form with its characteristic handle underscores the expressive style of West German studio ceramics of that time.

An impressive statement piece for mid-century, brutalist, or fat lava collections.
