The design is attributed to the American designer Wayne Husted and was created for the Italian glass manufacturer Stelvia in the 1960s.
Made of olive-green pressed glass with a characteristic textured surface, this object embodies the playful yet modern design language of the international mid-century design movement. Originally intended as a decanter or liqueur bottle, the piece is now frequently used as a decorative art glass object, vase, or collector's item.
