    Description
The Case Study House Project (1945-66) was an extraordinary, innovative, and, to this day, unique event in the history of American architecture. It focused on the Los Angeles area and envisioned the design of 36 prototypes intended to facilitate the simple, inexpensive construction of modern residential buildings during the postwar construction boom.

The driving force behind this project was John Entenza, the editor of Arts & Architecture and a modernist champion who, with his connections, was able to recruit talents such as Richard Neutra, Charles and Ray Eames, and Eero Saarinen. This highly experimental project produced houses that would redefine modern living, thus having a significant impact on American and international architecture, both in its time and even today.

This book is a monumental retrospective of the entire project, with comprehensive documentation, excellent photographs from the time of construction and current images of the still existing houses, as well as detailed floor plans and sketches.
