    About Wilhelm Kagel
The Wilhelm Kagel pottery was founded at the end of the 19th century by Wilhelm Kagel Sr. (1867-1935) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. His son and successor, Wilhelm Kagel Jr. (1906-1987), completed a pottery apprenticeship in his parents' business from 1919 to 1923.
After his father's death in 1935, he took over the artistic and technical direction of the manufactory. He held this position until his death in 1987. Upon his death, the company was dissolved.

The factory primarily produced small batches of vessel and decorative ceramics. All products were handmade. The design and decoration were based on regional traditions, but also consistently incorporated trends of the time. Hedwig Bollhagen worked at the factory in 1932.
